Gidget Gear by Tiki

is an epic adventure (in dog time, just 3 years for us) of creativity and belief in a little Bedlington terrier named Gidget. Summer 2002: Early signs of socialite behavior were evident. Gidget loved cruising around their convertible, dropping in at Hot Spots and cool beaches and insisted on having hip stuff to wear. She was photographed often in her new sporty clothes that Tiki was designing and found herself a cause celeb in the local papers and magazines. March 2003: Tiki launches her official Gidget-Gear by Tiki store on Tamiami Trail. She would be increasingly plagued by a recurring vision... a travel trailer (like she remembers her family in the 50's). "Hmmm, I could drive everywhere with Gidget", if I only had a trailer... Very soon, and just like magic, a tiny travel-trailer hooked up to an old Chevy "Burb" appeared on the side of the road with a big "FOR SALE" sign. The almost-vintage rig would take Tiki and her sidekick Laura all the way from Florida to California in search of success in the big show ring, The Eukanuba Invitational - Long Beach CA!!! October 2003: Gidget-Gear is a huge success out west and the decision is made to leave the tiny store in the dust. The rest of the story is a wild, wacky, daring odyssey of endurance, and belief that "if we build it... they will come"... and they have. Today: Tiki and her stead-fast partner Laura have designed over 80 pieces in the Gidget-Gear line, embracing every fashion need from fun and funky to dressy-up stuff and active wear. The clothing is beautifully made in Tampa, Florida. They have 3 Bedlington Terriers, (models) a "real" Corporation and an upgraded travel trailer (the old one finally fell apart). Oh, and the "burb" was replaced with the 'Big Kahuna' - our trusty company van.
